Good to know

Emmons Cabin Suite has everything you need for a Mount Rainier getaway! Whether you're looking for an adventure basecamp or a cozy place to relax, we have you covered. The "Ashford Lodge" is an old bed and breakfast that we bought and renovated in 2021, turning it into a fun mountain retreat! There is a big main house, guest house, and vintage trailer "glampground", with a shared hot tub, BBQ gazebo, and gardens. The Emmons Suite is the largest suite in our guest house, which has two other cabin suites. Each room has it's own private entrance, and there is a double layer of heavy insulation in the walls to keep noise down to a minimum. This cozy room has everything you need for a comfortable stay neat Mt. Rainier National Park. The queen-size bed has flannel sheets and a pillow-top mattress to help you sleep like a baby, and there is a whisper-quiet AC unit to keep you at a comfortable temperature all night long. The gas fireplace provides warmth and ambience; grab a book, game, or puzzle off the bookshelf and relax by the warmth of the fire! Best of all, you can watch movies from bed on the huge 100" projector! The smart projector is stocked with all the major streaming apps, and we supply a complimentary subscription to both Netflix and Amazon Prime Video! Bring the popcorn and cozy up for an epic movie night! The room also features a vintage kitchenette with basic cooking needs: Hot plate and electric skillet, coffee maker with fresh ground coffee from local roaster Campfire Coffee Company, sugar, creamer, and tea, as well as a microwave and mini-fridge. There are also mugs, glasses, bowls, silverware, napkins, and a wine/bottle opener. The bathroom features a shower stocked with top-quality Beekman 1802 shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash. Towels, washcloths, and hairdryer will be ready and waiting for you. Outside the room, you'll have access to the shared hot tub, tucked back in a private space in our garden away from all the rooms. It's located in a gazebo, so you can enjoy it even when it's raining! The hot tub is shared with guests in our other rooms and is first come, first served; we just ask that guests limit their hot tub time to an hour or so other guests get a chance to relax too. There is separate gazebo with gas grill and picnic table in our garden where you can grill up some post-hike burgers, and a hammock so you can relax in the sunshine! Our property also backs right up to Ashford County Park, which features a small network of paved trails that meander through beautiful woods! Follow our small gravel trail (look for the gravel going into the woods between the hot tub and vintage travel trailer) to connect up with the main park trail, and enjoy and nice evening stroll!

Neighborhood

Ashford is the last little town before reaching the entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park, and is a quiet, friendly little place! First of all, our property backs right up to Ashford County Park, with a mile of easy hiking trails through some pretty woods! Grab a morning coffee and go for a nice walk! We have a gravel trail that leads from our property to the park (walk from the hot tub towards the travel trailer and you'll see it!) Dining options: BaseCamp Bar and Grill - Located RIGHT NEXT to our property (seriously, just a short walk) they feature great pizzas, burgers, local craft beer, and outdoor seating! They close at 8pm. Trailhead Bar and Grill - Another easy walk, if you're looking for something later, they are open til midnight and feature fantastic burgers and drinks. Breakfast: If you're looking for something simple, the Cafe at Whittaker's Bunkhouse is just a short walk up the road and features great espresso drinks and breakfast sandwiches. Copper Creek Restaurant - If you're looking for a hearty breakfast, this is the place! A 5 minute drive towards the park entrance, this legendary local spot has the stacks of pancakes and hearty omelets you're looking for. Be sure to get some of their blackberry pie, it's famous for a reason! Groceries and Gas: Ashford Grocery is one of two little general stores. They have basic groceries, including a wide selection of good-quality microwaveable meals if you're looking for something cheap and easy, as well as a gas station with both gas and diesel. Suver's General Store, also within walking distance, has more grocery options and assorted odds and ends if you forgot something at home.

Guest Access

We have three parking spaces right behind our guest house, so you can park right next to your room. There is a keypad on the door; we'll send you the code before check-in so you can let yourself in. Our property is located on the edge of Ashford, and is walking distance to two restaurants, a cafe, and two general/convenience stores.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time at Ashford Lodge. It was a close drive to Mount Rainier and the local spots in Ashford. The hot tub and projector were also a major plus! We enjoyed our stay and we will definitely come back!

Scott was a wonderful, communicative host and the cabin was so beautiful and cozy! We absolutely loved the nature surrounding us and enjoyed the hot tub, too! We also loved the friendly cat on the property named Dude! We made some wonderful memories here and will definitely be back again.

This was a great little escape close to Mt. Rainier. There is a shop next door with hiking necessities and in season there’s a restaurant too. The hot tub was an amenity we didn’t get to use due to our time but it looked super peaceful! Dude, the cat, was a great tour guide around the exterior of the property. There was a small issue during our stay but the hosts were quick to respond and help out.

i’ve been to cabins here before but this is hands down the best cabin i’ve ever stayed at. the place was so cozy and nice and the hot tub was amazing BUT the best part or my stay was the cat, i heard a meowing at the door so i opened it and the cat came in and made itself at home. i have 2 cats at home so it felt like i was at home. i figured its the owners which i’ve seen on review so obviously didnt keep it inside too long but it came back multiple times and i loved it and when we went in the hot tub the cat joined lol and when we were checking out and writing in the guest book the cat came back inside and chilled while i wrote it. i absolutely love this place and will come back 100/10 🥹💕

The cabin was so incredibly cozy! I had the location is great and is pretty close to some restaurants which is nice. This is the type of place where staying in felt like a vacation. The puzzles and games are a nice touch! And I also love that the projector screen is tucked away until you want it. Just such a great experience. I will surely be back.
